Hike, walk, run, or bike the level, scenic trails at Cochran Shoals park, catching stunning views of the Chattahoochee River and exploring scenic woodlands and marshes. It’s one of Atlanta’s all-time most popular trails, and equally great for a Sunday stroll or running a few 5k training loops.

1978 Interstate North Pkwy

Atlanta, GA 30350

2.0-mile loop trail near Roswell, Georgia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while getting after your run. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

Kennesaw Mountain rises from the rolling landscape just north of Atlanta, towering over the surrounding forest and suburban sprawl that surround it and its smaller, neighboring peak, Little Kennesaw. The mountains and their surrounding National Battlefield Park offer over twenty miles of trails that weave through forests, over mountaintops, and through grassy meadows, and make for a great run, hike or outdoor adventure near town.  Here's a link to the trail maps for reference.

Chattahoochee Pointe Park

The Chattahoochee Pointe Trail is an serene, idyllic, 3.2-mile trail that meanders through Chattahoochee Pointe Park. Located next to the Chattahoochee River on land once used as a horse farm, the trail starts off gently weaving through beautiful open meadows separated by classic tree lines. You will soon find yourself walking alongside Dick Creek, and then next to the mighty Chattahoochee River. The trail offers several access points to the River including a canoe launch area, and even some rope swings.
